6 Items You Should Bring With You On A Bourbon Tour

A bourbon tour is an ideal way to learn about the history, and process and enjoy some of the bourbon that Kentucky has. But before you go on your tour, there are a few things you should make sure to bring with you! Below are six items that you should consider carrying on a bourbon tour.

A Good Camera 

Bourbon tours are filled with beautiful distilleries, stunning landscapes, and interesting people. You may want to want to document it all! It's important to make sure you bring along a good camera so you can capture all the memories of your trip.

Comfortable Shoes

You'll be doing a lot of walking on your bourbon tour, so it's important to wear comfortable shoes. No one wants to be stuck in uncomfortable shoes for hours on end! In case you have recently bought a pair, it's necessary to break in those new shoes before you go or wear your older comfortable ones.

A Water Bottle

Staying hydrated is key, especially if you'll be sampling bourbons throughout the day. If possible, you can bring along a reusable water bottle that you can fill up at the distilleries. This can help reduce waste and save you money in the long run.

Snacks 

While most bourbon tours include provisions, it's always a good idea to bring along some snacks just in case. This is especially true because unhealthy blood sugar levels can ruin a good time! Pack something to nibble on between tastings.

An Empty Flask  

This one is optional, but if you're looking to sneak a nip of your favorite bourbon during the tour, an empty flask is essential! Just make sure not to overdo it so that you can enjoy the tour and not end up with a headache afterward. 

Cash 

While many distilleries these days accept credit cards, there's nothing worse than being stuck somewhere without cash. It's important to bring along some cash just in case — that way you can buy souvenirs or grab a bite to eat without any problems.

Taking a bourbon tour is a great way to spend a day (or two!) in Kentucky. But before you go, make sure you've got everything you need — from comfortable shoes to snacks and even a camera!
